About The Position

These opportunities are focused on employment litigation, workplace disputes, wage and hour claims, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, counseling, and business-facing employment law strategy. Candidates must have employment litigation, counseling, or workplace dispute experience, strong drafting, discovery, motion practice, or counseling skills, be comfortable with client interaction and case responsibility, have relevant state bar admission or eligibility, and be interested in employment law as a practice focus. These roles are not suitable for attorneys without employment law exposure, candidates looking only for general commercial litigation, transactional-only attorneys, or attorneys not comfortable with litigation deadlines. The openings include Senior Litigation Attorney, Junior Litigation Attorney, Senior Counsel - Employment, and Labor & Employment Associate (Denver).

Requirements

  • Employment litigation, counseling, or workplace dispute experience.
  • Strong drafting, discovery, motion practice, or counseling skills.
  • Comfortable with client interaction and case responsibility.
  • Relevant state bar admission or eligibility.
  • Interest in employment law as a practice focus.
  • 5+ years of California employer-side employment litigation experience (for Senior Litigation Attorney).
  • FEHA depth (for Senior Litigation Attorney).
  • Experience with wage-and-hour, class actions, and PAGA representative actions (for Senior Litigation Attorney).
  • At least one jury trial experience as first or second chair (for Senior Litigation Attorney).
  • 1-4 years of California employer-side employment litigation experience (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • Experience with pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice in CA state/federal courts (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • Experience with discrimination, wage-and-hour, and PAGA matters (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • Ability for independent case ownership (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • Experience with mediation/arbitration preparation (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • Strong written advocacy skills (for Junior Litigation Attorney).
  • 5-8 years of focused employment law experience (for Senior Counsel - Employment).
  • Experience with employment compliance, agreements, restrictive covenants, workplace investigations, executive compensation, equity plan design/administration, contractor classification, wage/hour, remote workforce compliance, handbooks, HR policies, and startup counseling (for Senior Counsel - Employment).
  • 3-5 years of management-side labor and employment law experience (for Labor & Employment Associate).
  • Experience with employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour (for Labor & Employment Associate).
  • Experience with discovery requests/responses, depositions, pleadings and motions, and hearings/court/admin agency representation (for Labor & Employment Associate).
  • Experience with employer counseling, policies, handbooks, and compliance (for Labor & Employment Associate).

Responsibilities

  • Handle employment litigation, workplace disputes, wage and hour claims, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and counseling.
  • Engage in business-facing employment law strategy.
  • Draft legal documents, manage discovery, and handle motion practice.
  • Interact with clients and take responsibility for cases.
  • Conduct depositions of complex witnesses.
  • Prepare for trials and potentially serve as first or second chair in jury trials.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates.
  • Manage employment compliance, agreements, restrictive covenants, and workplace investigations.
  • Advise on executive compensation, equity plan design/administration, contractor classification, remote workforce compliance, handbooks, and HR policies.
  • Provide startup counseling.
  • Represent employers in hearings and before administrative agencies.
  • Counsel employers on policies, handbooks, and compliance.
