About The Position

This role involves handling a wide range of employment law matters, including both litigation and non-litigation issues. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners on case strategy and execution, manage single-plaintiff and complex class/collective action cases, and lead defense-side litigation efforts. This includes developing discovery strategies, conducting and defending depositions, drafting motions, making court appearances, and managing expert witnesses. The role also requires engaging in settlement negotiations, mediation, and conferences, as well as preparing cases for trial and arbitration. A key aspect of the position is the ability to independently manage the full lifecycle of litigation, including opposing class certification, motion practice, and trial preparation and management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of employment/labor litigation experience (California)
  • Proven experience handling complex litigation from start to finish
  • Ability to independently manage cases with minimal supervision
  • Strong exposure to discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent analytical thinking
  • Excellent client interaction / people skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative yet autonomous environment
  • Licensed and in good standing with California Bar
  • Strong litigation skills (discovery, motions, depositions, trial prep)
  • Experience managing cases independently
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Active license to practice law in California (required)
  • Must maintain ongoing licensure compliance
