Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business, human resources, social work or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a case manager or career specialist or the appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Amharic.
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking and workshop leadership.
  • Ability to conduct internet-based research.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, include a demonstrated ability to work in diverse, cross-cultural settings.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new database systems for outcomes tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct student intake and initial assessments to understand employment needs and goals.
  • Create individualized employment plans and provide one-on-one career guidance.
  • Assist students in creating and improving employment portfolios, including resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and other job search materials.
  • Follow up with students to support progress toward short and long-term employment goals.
  • Organize and facilitate in-class and virtual job readiness workshops and school-wide employment skills training.
  • Develop or tailor workshop materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, pre/post assessments, and outcome tracking; update curriculum continuously based on findings.
  • Prepare students for interviews and hiring processes, including mock interviews and industry-specific expectations.
  • Conduct job development and job search activities aligned with student interests and strengths.
  • Assist students with job applications, employment accounts, and online job search tools.
  • Support employer engagement activities, including job fairs, employer outreach, networking events, and placement initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and the Employment Coordinator to match qualified candidates to available positions.
  • Maintain strong employer relationships to support ongoing job placement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely case notes for all student interactions, services rendered, and employment outcomes in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Track and update employment data for each student, including job placements and retention status.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to data privacy standards, grant compliance requirements, and departmental policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational priorities.
