About The Position

Help people find meaningful employment and achieve greater independence. Starbridge is seeking an Employment Counselor to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in obtaining and maintaining successful employment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact while building relationships with individuals, employers, and community partners.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel throughout Monroe County and surrounding areas.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) or ASL skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in finding and maintaining employment.
• Build relationships with local employers and identify job opportunities.
• Provide job coaching, supportive counseling, and ongoing employment support.
• Collaborate with families, ACCES-VR counselors, employers, and community partners.
• Maintain case notes, service plans, reports, and required documentation.
• Advocate for individuals and help remove barriers to employment success.
