About The Position

MGA Entertainment is a leading global toy and entertainment company seeking an experienced Employment Counsel. This role will manage in-house employment practices and support commercial practices for a busy consumer products company. The position requires advising Human Resources and management on employment and employee relations matters, managing outside counsel for employment litigation and immigration, and drafting/negotiating various agreements including employment, independent contractor, and commercial agreements. The role also involves updating company policies and handling other commercial projects as needed.

Requirements

JD from an accredited school of law
4 year undergraduate degree
6-10 years’ experience as a successful employment attorney
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Computer literate
Well organized, flexible and multi-task oriented
Motivated self-starter who can work independently
Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions
Strong, driven and hard working.
Comfortable Working Internationally

Responsibilities

Advise Human Resources and other Management regarding employment and employee relations matters, including pre-litigation dispute resolution.
Manage outside counsel in employment litigation.
Draft, negotiate and manage employment, independent contractor and vendor agreements.
Manage outside counsel on immigration matters.
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
Handle other commercial projects and assignments as needed.
Maintain expertise and advise on the current state of the law regarding California statutory requirements and restrictions.
Draft, execute, and manage the performance of Employment, Consultant and Vendor agreements.
Update and maintain company employment-related documents and policies.
Perform all other duties as assigned and/or needed.
