This role involves supporting participants to set personal financial goals, develop budgeting and money management skills, explore savings strategies, create plans for reducing debt, and use visual aids or simplified tools to support comprehension. Coaching is tailored to individual needs and delivered through trauma informed and client-centered approaches. The Specialist provides step-by-step support for participants navigating financial benefits related to disability, including access to the Disability Tax Credit, the Canada Disability Benefit, and the Registered Disability Savings Plan. The Specialist will also assist with benefit activation and continuity when personal or financial circumstances change. The Specialist will deliver workshops for individuals identified as low income or experiencing financial stress, focusing on financial planning, foundational budgeting concepts, and practical financial management tools. Additionally, the role includes educating other Program Staff about the program and performing administrative work and meetings with the Team Lead.
