About The Position

The Employee Relations Consultant works closely with the People & Culture (P&C) department to investigate internal issues and seeks resolution sensitively and confidentially. Issues may include complaints relating to harassment, discrimination, or any potential high-risk matter. This role assists with compliance and regulations pertaining to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), including testing guidance, training of test administrators, data collection, adverse impact analysis, and process improvement recommendations. It also involves managing and testing the applicant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation process and the testing program. Additionally, the consultant assists with affirmative action program administration for policy development, annual internal audits, report validation, and compliance with Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) under the guidance of the EEO/Employee Relations Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Compliance or related field and 2+ years of experience with administration and expert knowledge of specific regulations (EEOC testing guidance, Ex Order 11246, ADA, Section 503 and Vevraa).
  • Experience in test validation, test administration and affirmative action administration and compliance.
  • Data analysis resulting in problem identification and program changes.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations impacting selection testing and affirmative action.
  • Ability to conduct data analysis and problem identification and solving for process improvement.
  • Adaptability and ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex information, conduct research, and manage highly confidential and time-sensitive matters.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence others as well as effective implementation of program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases through the complete case lifecycle including intake, triage, risk assessment, investigation, documentation, resolution recommendations, and case closure.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, respectful workplace concerns, workplace misconduct and policy violations, ethics concerns, conflicts of interest, workplace violence and threats, substance abuse concerns, attendance and conduct issues, performance concerns, management practice concerns, accommodation-related concerns, and employee complaints and grievances.
  • Conduct investigatory interviews and gather, review, and analyze relevant documentation, records, electronic evidence, and other information.
  • Identify legal, regulatory, operational, labor, and employee relations risks and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Develop investigation plans, analyze facts, determine findings, and prepare clear and concise investigation reports and executive summaries.
  • Facilitate fact review meetings, corrective action discussions, and investigation closeout meetings.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain case documentation and investigative records within HR Acuity and other approved case management systems.
  • Monitor case trends and identify opportunities for proactive interventions, training, policy updates, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure investigations are conducted in a fair, objective, timely, and confidential manner.
  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners, Labor Relations, Legal, Compliance, Security, and business leaders to assess concerns, evaluate risk, and develop appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Prepare and run training sessions.
  • Develop and administer programs to meet compliance components for the corporation related to selection testing and affirmative action.
  • Conduct data analysis and problem identification and solving for process improvement.
  • Analyze and interpret complex information, conduct research, and manage highly confidential and time-sensitive matters.
  • Communicate clearly and influence others as well as effective implementation of programs.
