About The Position

The Hilb Group’s Employee Benefits internship gives students the opportunity to explore career paths within a growing insurance brokerage through hands-on learning and exposure to real-world projects. Interns work with experienced members of the benefits team, learn about business operations, and contribute to client service initiatives. The role includes an opportunity to travel to the corporate office in Richmond, Virginia, to meet fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event. The internship may lead to full-time employment opportunities after graduation.

Requirements

• Must be able to commute to an office in North Carolina or South Carolina.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred majors include Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Risk Management & Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the Employee Benefits team across operational activities in a professional manner.
• Learn the agency management system and shadow Account Managers and Producers.
• Assist the front-line service team with daily administrative and client-service tasks.
• Attend client renewal meetings and help prepare materials.
