How you'll make an impact The Consultant is a client-facing role within Gallagher Benefits Services, responsible for contributing to the delivery of strategic, optimized employee benefit solutions by applying industry knowledge, analytical insights and Gallagher’s consulting frameworks. This role is a critical contributor to the full client experience, including supporting benefit strategy development, renewal execution, financial analysis, compliance planning and ongoing consultative engagement. The Consultant partners closely with Producers, Client Executives, service team members and subject matter experts to ensure solutions align with client objectives, while leveraging the full spectrum of Gallagher tools and resources. This role combines technical execution with consultative judgment, requiring the ability to translate data, market trends and plan design considerations into clear, actionable recommendations. The Consultant plays an active role in client discussions, leads structured meetings such as renewals and annual strategic planning sessions, and supports the application of best-in-class consulting methodologies to drive consistency and quality across the client lifecycle. You will Prioritize client satisfaction in all interactions to ensure client needs are understood, deadlines are met, proactive communication is occurring and work quality is superior Utilize financial and clinical data to identify, evaluate and develop renewal and financial strategies in partnership with our clients Serve as a consistent consulting presence for assigned clients, explaining rationale and coaching others Take ownership of assigned deliverables and follow through on commitments Understand and explain financial analysis and underwriting concepts based on funding status of aligned clients Utilize the suite of Gallagher resources to inform strategic opportunities based on client objectives Demonstrate understanding and forethought during problem resolution and identification / development of distinctive solutions Delegate and provide clear instructions and timelines for projects to team members, giving and receiving feedback along the way Review work completed by others for accuracy and completeness Build and maintain collaborative relationships internally, with clients and with vendor contacts Maintain awareness of opportunities to solve client challenges more broadly and further strengthen the relationship

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years client service
  • Must hold appropriate licensing as required
  • Proficiency necessary in Microsoft office applications and in using technology as a tool to maximize productivity and quality
  • Previous experience in managing client relationships essential
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance knowledge as well as solid financial acumen
  • 8+ years client management experience in the insurance industry
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
