This role is for an experienced and client-focused Employee Benefits Account Manager responsible for managing client accounts, coordinating renewals and open enrollment, supporting benefits technology implementations, and delivering exceptional client experiences. The position requires expertise in ACA and CHP administration, compliance, and client support. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, experienced in managing multiple priorities, and provides consultative support. This role is key to client retention, operational efficiency, and service excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–5 years of employee benefits account management or related client service experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including COBRA, FSA, HSA, and related compliance considerations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations, CHP administration, eligibility requirements, reporting obligations, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience supporting employer-sponsored group health plans and advising clients on ACA-related requirements and employee benefits administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn HRIS systems and benefits technology platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits clients, proactively assessing needs and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ACA and CHP programs, providing guidance to clients, assisting with compliance-related questions, and supporting enrollment, reporting, and ongoing administration activities.
  • Coordinate and manage benefit renewal activities, including marketing, carrier negotiations, spreadsheet analysis, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
  • Support onboarding activities and employee communication initiatives, including open enrollment meetings, benefits education, and implementation support.
  • Manage benefits technology platform implementations and collaborate with internal and external partners to support successful execution and adoption.
  • Maintain strong client satisfaction by providing consultative support, resolving issues, and ensuring timely follow-up on client requests.
  • Assist with new business opportunities by supporting marketing efforts, spreadsheeting, proposal development, and open enrollment presentations for prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify process improvements, increase operational efficiencies, and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain client-facing materials, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations to support ongoing account management and client communication.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance-related topics, including COBRA, FSA, HSA, and other employee benefits regulations impacting clients.
  • Partner with colleagues to support day-to-day service operations and contribute to team success through collaboration and shared accountability.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, carrier updates, compliance requirements, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
