About The Position

The Employee Benefits Account Executive role at HUB International is responsible for servicing a book of business generating approximately $1M in revenue. This position provides professional and courteous account leadership and broking services to assigned clients, with a primary focus on account retention. Working collaboratively with Producers and Account Managers, the Account Executive oversees the management of assigned accounts. This includes proactive consultation, insurance program design, carrier marketing, collaboration with colleagues across HUB, and negotiation of coverage terms and conditions. Requirements

  • A Life & Health insurance license
  • At least 7 years of experience servicing large EB accounts
  • Complete proficiency in alternative funding mechanisms, including but not limited to self-funding
  • Experience with influencing C-level executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint programs
  • High energy, detail-oriented self-starter
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
  • Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility
  • Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Serve as HUB’s primary consultant to the client, working alongside and cooperatively with Producers (if assigned). The Producer handles client relationship management and new sales initiation, while the Account Executive focuses on account retention as the technical expert and broker-consultant. In instances without a Producer, the Account Executive is also primarily responsible for client relationship management.
  • Act as the point person for client relationships, communicating with internal (service/production team) and external stakeholders on all account updates.
  • Establish and maintain strong, productive professional relationships with C-level executives and other decision-makers for assigned HUB clients.
  • Possess a detailed understanding of the client’s business and industry, articulating applicable exposures to loss, insurance coverages, and appropriate risk management/control solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including familiarity with each carrier’s products and services.
  • Directly oversee and coordinate the delivery of all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle, including stewardship reports, risk control services, carrier meetings, claims reviews, coverage outlines, and marketing for coverage requests.
  • Ensure all client service needs are met promptly and professionally, either directly or through HUB colleagues (e.g., Account Manager, Benefit Analysts). The Account Executive is accountable for the competence, timeliness, and quality of all client deliverables.
  • Conduct annual reviews with clients, providing coverage and loss control recommendations to reduce the client's total cost of risk.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling of other HUB products and services, initiating these as appropriate for client needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of and document other insurance products and services clients purchase from other providers and identify those providers.
  • Work with the Producer (if assigned) or be primarily responsible for maintaining current receivable status for assigned clients, undertaking proactive efforts to collect receivables over 30 days past-due and documenting unresolved circumstances.
  • Comply with HUB systems, procedures, and state/federal insurance regulations.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing, including designing and delivering effective group presentations using various media, from internal training to client sales or renewal presentations.
  • Actively participate with professional and/or civic associations on behalf of HUB.
