Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting product safety and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Hands-on experience with NRTL, CE, UKCA, FCC, and ICES certification requirements.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, EMI/EMC testing methodologies, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Experience reviewing schematics, electrical designs, and critical component documentation.
  • Experience working with compliance laboratories, certification agencies, and testing organizations.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical compliance documentation, including CDFs, CCLs, test reports, and Technical Construction Files.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leading product safety, regulatory compliance, and certification activities for a fixed-installation scanning system deployed across the United States, Canada, European Union, and United Kingdom.
  • Reviewing electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and product designs against applicable product safety standards.
  • Evaluating critical safety components including fuses, transformers, capacitors, connectors, and power inlets.
  • Gathering component documentation and datasheets to create Construction Data Forms (CDFs) and Critical Component Lists (CCLs).
  • Reviewing user manuals, labeling, and nameplate requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing certification packages and supporting NRTL, CE, and UKCA certification activities with third-party certification bodies.
  • Partnering with engineering teams to stage, configure, and operate equipment under test (EUT) during compliance evaluations.
  • Identifying compliance gaps and collaborating with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Developing and executing EMI/EMC test plans for U.S., Canadian, EU, and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating laboratory testing, monitoring equipment performance, documenting results, and supporting the completion of Technical Construction Files (TCFs).
  • Supporting regulatory testing activities and ensuring project milestones are met within established timelines.
