As a Financial Controller within the Emerging Markets Currencies & Emerging Markets group, you will primarily focus on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Firm's books and records for the Brazil Equities Derivatives business, with an emphasis on reconciliation of general ledger, risk management systems, operating systems, and infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle of the trading business. You will own balance sheet and P&L reconciliation, balance sheet substantiation, inter-entity control and governance, and month-end close processes while coordinating closely with product control and legal entity controllers teams. You will have high exposure to senior leaders and work in a challenging space that partners closely with the business and cross-functional controller groups to support its operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
Basic knowledge of the General Ledger accounting process, with good understanding of the reporting and month end close responsibilities & understanding of Financial Products
Able to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups.
Able to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems.
Strong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies.
Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, verbal, and written communication skills
Able to multi-task in a constantly changing environment and the Ability to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues.

Nice To Haves

Apply knowledge of equities derivatives accounting, including fair value accounting and trade economics.
Demonstrate experience with balance sheet substantiation and inter-entity reconciliation in a trading environment.
Operate effectively within a global team structure, coordinating across multiple time zones and regions.

Responsibilities

Reconcile balance sheet and P&L across general ledger, risk management systems, and operating systems to ensure accuracy and completeness for the Brazil Equities Derivatives business.
Support a specific line of business within the Corporate & Investment Bank, including Currencies & Emerging Markets, Rates, Credit Trading, Securitized Products Group, Equities, and Risk.
Collaborate closely with line of business controllers, middle office, business managers, technology, and operations to ensure seamless financial control.
Analyze end-to-end flow of trading activities, booking models, product configurations, and trade economics to apply relevant accounting policies and enhance the control framework.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of line of business income statement and balance sheet at month, quarter, and year-ends.
Drive engagement in line of business initiatives and projects, serving as the financial control subject matter expert.
Identify proactively process and infrastructure enhancements and work with stakeholders to enact meaningful change.
Oversee preparation of the Firm's primary financial statements at quarter-end for use in the earnings release and Securities Exchange Commission filings.
Control post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
Manage intercompany eliminations as a key component of the financial consolidation process.
Mobilize change wherever possible to simplify processes, enhance controls, and strengthen the overall control environment around the financial reporting function.
