The Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) Senior Analyst, a member of the Innovation Branch under Multi-Domain Force Development, contributes to identifying and cataloguing EDTs and assessing their implications and adoption opportunities in support of the Warfare Development Agenda, while promoting experimentation of EDT-based solutions in realistic environments and coordinating input to EDT activities within ACT's Science and Technology Program of Work. The analyst helps exploit EDTs that address capability shortfalls, contributes advice informing strategic foresight analysis (SFA, FFAO), NATO defense planning (NDPP), and capability development efforts including requirements formulation, concept development and experimentation, and Analysis of Alternatives, and identifies capability shortfalls suited to EDT adoption through analysis of NDPP products and Lessons Learned. The role also includes educating HQ SACT staff on EDT opportunities and risks and maintaining a knowledge base to support information exchange between ACT, NATO, and national EDT stakeholders - requiring experience gathering and interpreting research and technology information, knowledge of national S&T sources, and the ability to assess and translate emerging technologies into practical military applications.
