About The Position

We are seeking an Emerging Advisor Intern to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in financial advising while supporting advisor teams, client relationships, and financial planning workflows across Keating & Associates. The Keating Emerging Advisor Internship Program is designed to accelerate the development of aspiring advisors through practical client work, intentional coaching, and comprehensive exposure to Keating’s advisory model. As an Emerging Advisor Intern, you will operate as a developing advisor, not simply an observer. You will work alongside experienced advisors and financial planning teams to support client relationships, build and update financial plans, assist with investment and retirement workflows, and communicate clearly in real client-facing environments. This internship is designed for individuals who naturally take initiative, move quickly from idea to action, communicate with confidence, and thrive in environments that involve challenge, variety, and performance expectations. Successful interns consistently look beyond simply completing tasks and focus on improving outcomes, processes, and client experiences. High-performing interns may have the opportunity to transition into long-term, producing advisor roles within the firm. This internship is ideal for individuals with a strong internal drive to lead, perform, and grow into a client-facing advisory career.

Requirements

  • Junior standing or higher, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or minor in Financial Planning, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Organization: Maintains strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally in written, verbal, and client-facing interactions
  • Initiative: Demonstrates personal drive, coachability, and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Process Management: Follows structured workflows, timelines, and planning processes with consistency
  • Execution: Completes assignments thoroughly and reliably with strong follow-through and accountability
  • Research: Researches thoroughly, verifies details, and fact-checks information accurately
  • Workflow Coordination: Organizes financial information, documents, and project workflows systematically
  • Client Service: Supports positive, professional, and relationship-focused client experience
  • Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with advisors, planning teams, and cross-functional partners

  • Supporting advisors with client meeting preparation and follow-up
