About The Position

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Ensure emergent bilingual students receive high-quality classroom instruction by collaborating with other teachers, co-planning and/or co-teaching. Facilitate all LPAC (Language Proficiency Assessment Committee) meetings.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree and must present official transcripts showing bachelor's degree awarded.
  • Certified in Texas with an endorsement of Bilingual or ESL, as required by the program model implemented at the campus.
  • Demonstrate competency in their core academic subject area.
  • Must believe fully in the mission and vision of Jubilee Academies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Prepare an emergency lesson plan folder to cover 2 days of material.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles and English Proficiency levels.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
  • Conduct data analysis along with classroom teachers and utilize results to drive instruction.
  • Work cooperatively with general and special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for dual coded students.
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
  • Use technology and instructional platforms approved by the district to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
  • Participate in extended day and weekend school tutoring as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
  • Teach students to work toward self-discipline and responsibility.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school.
  • Ensure good student discipline by being regular in attendance and on time.
  • Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student Handbook.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with students, teachers, campus administrators, and directors.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, teachers, and administrators.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment where staff, students, and families feel valued and supported.
  • Promote a sense of unity and teamwork across all departments, regions, and campuses.
  • Recognize and celebrate achievements and milestones within the school community.
  • Attend campus, regional, and district events as appropriate.
  • Uphold and promote the mission and values of Jubilee Academies, encouraging a culture of joy, understanding, balance, integrity, leadership, empowerment, and excellence.
  • Ensure that all activities and initiatives reflect the diverse and inclusive nature of the school community.
  • Support campus-level staff in incorporating the Jubilee Way into their daily activities and messages.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff to sustain the Jubilee Way.
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all students, staff, and families.
  • Implement policies and practices supporting the emotional and social well-being of the school community.
  • Attend all required training related to LPAC guidelines and procedures offered by the Education Service Center.
  • Stay abreast of new developments related to Bilingual/ESL education, including state mandated testing platforms.
