About The Position

You’ll be empowered to do your best work with a team you can count on. At VCA, the future of veterinary medicine is in our hands. This is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a high-acuity emergency and referral caseload. We offer true specialty support on-site (Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology) with real-time collaboration. We have an exceptional ER support team, including experienced technicians and an ECC VTS. Advanced diagnostics on site include: 128-slice CT, 1.5T MRI, multiple ultrasounds (including ICU), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This is a teaching hospital environment with rounds, case collaboration, and built-in mentorship. We are the only specialty & emergency hospital on Long Island with a dedicated Social Worker supporting patients, clients, and care teams. The focus is on small/companion animals, with some exotics. Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalency program
• Licensure in good standing to practice in (state), or the ability to obtain

Nice To Haves

• High-acuity emergency and referral caseload experience
• Experience with advanced diagnostics (CT, MRI, ultrasound, hyperbaric oxygen therapy)
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment
