About The Position

VCA Colonial Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to complement our talented ER team in beautiful Ithaca, New York. At VCA Colonial, our practice is the perfect mix of general medicine and specialty services. Specialties currently offered include surgery, oncology, internal medicine, and radiology. Our 16,000 square foot hospital is fully equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT. We are a 17 doctor practice with a large support team that includes over 40 Licensed Technicians and Assistants. We are open seven days a week, and provide 24 hour hospitalized patient care.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
Experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT.

Nice To Haves

Experience in specialty services such as surgery, oncology, internal medicine, or radiology.
Experience in a 24-hour veterinary hospital.
Experience as a mentee or mentor in a GP or ER setting.
