About The Position

Join us as an Emergency Veterinarian at VCA Westbury in Westbury, Long Island NY and you’ll quickly discover that you’re well supported by world-class medicine, technology, facilities and a talented team. This is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a high-acuity emergency and referral caseload, true specialty support on-site (Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology) with real-time collaboration, and an exceptional ER support team, including experienced technicians and an ECC VTS. Advanced diagnostics on site include: 128-slice CT, 1.5T MRI, multiple ultrasounds (including ICU), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This is a teaching hospital environment with rounds, case collaboration, and built-in mentorship. It is the only specialty & emergency hospital on Long Island with a dedicated Social Worker supporting patients, clients, and care teams. The focus is on small/companion animals, with some exotics. Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalency program.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in (state), or the ability to obtain.
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
