Emergency Veterinarian AND ER Department Head
About The Position
MedVet Asheville is seeking an experienced Emergency veterinarian to serve as the ER Department Head. This full-time position involves a split between clinical duties (approximately 8-10 shifts per month) and leadership responsibilities for the Emergency Room team in a 24/7 Emergency and Multi-Specialty hospital. The role requires fostering a positive culture, collaborating with the Medical Director, managing ER services, interfacing with specialists, supporting department preparation, participating in hiring and training, and creating the ER doctor schedule. The position also involves enhancing referral partner experiences and resolving client complaints. Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience as an emergency clinician.

Responsibilities

- Working collaboratively with the Medical Director to oversee the Emergency Services of the hospital.
- Serving as a contact for interface with our specialists regarding case transfer.
- Supporting the Medical Director in preparation and management of the ER department.
- Actively participating in ER doctor hiring, mentoring and training.
- Creating and maintaining the ER doctor schedule.
- Helping to provide a positive referral partner experience and aid in client complaint resolution.
