About The Position

Bethel Schools is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as Emergency Substitute Teachers for the 2024-25 school year. This on-call position involves organizing and implementing lesson plans to provide valuable learning experiences for students. The District will provide training to new guest teachers on classroom management, lesson plan implementation, school and district procedures, professionalism, standards of conduct, and legal issues prior to their first assignment. This role is distinct from a Regular Substitute Teacher, as it is intended for individuals who do not currently hold a Washington State Teaching certificate, often 'career-changers' exploring the teaching profession.

Requirements

Experience working with children in an instructional capacity.
A 4-year degree verifiable via unofficial transcripts (AA degrees may be considered on a case-by-case basis).
If currently enrolled in a teacher-prep program, candidates who have completed a considerable amount may be considered.
Availability and desire to work on a consistent basis (minimum 4 times a month).
Not currently employed by Bethel Schools.
Ability to obtain an Emergency Substitute Teaching certificate through the State of Washington.
Official transcripts required if hired.
