About The Position

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Service Technician (EST) for its Emergency Medicine department. The role is part of a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center and works collaboratively with emergency services staff and a multidisciplinary care team. The technician supports patient care by collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and helping with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation throughout the facility. The position is full-time, with variable 12-hour shifts and rotation every other weekend and major holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Completion of EMT, nurse aide, patient care technician training, or equivalent.
• CPR.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Emergency care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with all emergency services staff.
• Establish positive relationships with patients, families, and visitors.
• Collect most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of knowledge and experience, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Perform point-of-care testing and follow appropriate quality-control procedures.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge as appropriate.
• Transport patients throughout the facility.
