Requirements

Graduated from an approved EMT Paramedic or EMT Intermediate program.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nursing Aide license is preferred.
One (1) year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area under the supervision of the Emergency Room Director.
Performs telemetry monitoring.
Greets patients and visitors.
Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse, asking for clarification when necessary.
Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Tests equipment for proper working order and reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Other tasks that may be assigned.
