Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Basic patient assessment skills including primary survey.
Basic knowledge of primary interventions.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
High level of compassion, desire to help others, and self-confidence.
Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills.

Nice To Haves

2 years of ED Technician experience preferred.
Phlebotomy, ECG Tech, or EMT preferred.
EMT-B or nursing student in final year as verified by official transcript.
ECG course/certification, medical terminology, EMT- B/I/P.

Responsibilities

Provides patient services and care, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control.
Collects data reflective of the patient status and report the information needed to the licensed clinical staff in the Emergency Department.
Performs clerical, safety attendant and other duties as assigned within their scope.
Receives delegated work by a Registered Nurse or member of the medical staff and is part of the care team.
Provides and documents assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists/provides patient care throughout the entire patient experience under the direct supervision of the physician and/or the registered nurse.
Assists in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment.
Organizes supplies and equipment as needed.
Assists with patient care while complying with Department, Hospital, and Regulatory policies and procedures.
Understands concepts of sterile and non-sterile techniques.
Adheres to safety measures.
