Emergency Service Technician (EST) - Emergency Medicine (ER) Job Type: Full-time | Variable 12-hour shifts and rotate every other weekend and major holidays. Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, Level I Trauma Center where teamwork, critical thinking, and high-acuity patient care come together to make a meaningful impact every day. Nurses are supported 24/7 by experienced on-shift leadership and work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes emergency service technicians, surgical technologists, unit clerks, pharmacists, social workers, transport staff, and an exceptional group of attending physicians and advanced practice providers. Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Completion of an EMT/nurse aide/patient care technician training or equivalent
  • CPR

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy preferred
  • Emergency Care Experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with all emergency services staff
  • Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors
  • Responsible for the proper collection of most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy, POC testing)
  • Performs point of care testing, and follows appropriate quality control procedures
  • Assists with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate, including the transporting of patients throughout the facility
