Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire
- Basic Dysrhythmia Class within six months of hire
- Successful completion of: PCT classes as required by the unit
- Emergency Department orientation program
- Required hospital classes and competencies
- Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience is helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with personal care needs and activities of daily living
- Monitoring and documenting vital signs and patient observations
- Supporting patient comfort, safety, and mobility throughout their emergency department stay
- Assisting with treatments, procedures, and basic life support activities as directed by the care team
- Communicating important patient observations and changes in condition to nursing staff
- Helping maintain efficient patient flow in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Upholding patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality in every interaction
