The Emergency Services Technician assists physicians and registered nurses in providing technical patient care within the Emergency Department. This includes performing various medical procedures such as phlebotomy, wound care, inserting Foley catheters, and obtaining lab specimens, with the possibility of performing IV starts if state regulations allow. The role involves patient transport, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Communication and collaboration with physicians and other staff are crucial for facilitating patient care, managing various communication channels, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The technician is also responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting equipment, arranging repairs for major malfunctions, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties.
