About The Position

LifeLine EMS is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to manage the complex logistics of our ambulance operations. In this vital role, you'll develop and maintain comprehensive shift schedules for EMS personnel, ensuring adequate coverage at all times while adhering to labor laws, regulations, and employee preferences. You'll collaborate closely with operational teams across all departments to meet critical service needs and coordinate appropriate training schedules for new employees. LifeLine-EMS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our dedicated team. The Scheduler will please a critical role in ensuring the efficient scheduling of our highly effective team. This role requires exceptional multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in managing complex scheduling tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or a related field, preferably within an EMS or healthcare environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in scheduling software tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Evidence of respect for dignity, welfare, basic rights of all patients and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of medical terminology and basic EMS protocols is preferred.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to scheduling is preferred.
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet operational needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive shift schedule for EMS personnel, ensuring adequate coverage at all times, adhering to labor laws and regulations, and considering employee preferences and availability.
  • Ensure training schedules for new employees are appropriate.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure effective and efficient scheduling for all operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with established protocols, procedures, and quality standards in EMS operations, while adapting to any changing situations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shifts, assignments, and other relevant information in our electronic scheduling systems.
  • Address scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and unexpected events by making swift and informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and response times.
  • Regularly view and analyze scheduling data, response metrics, and incident reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Develop a plan for maintaining your own professional growth and development.
  • Maintain an elevated level of competency within the staff.
