About The Position

The Emergency Services Lead is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and supervision of emergency medical and emergency services operations during events, daily facility activities, and large-scale special events at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA/FDEP). Responsibilities include weekly inspections of recycling rooms, building fire system inspections, maintaining fire equipment inspections, monitoring building AEDs, and related safety compliance functions. This position supports a safe environment for guests, staff, vendors, competitors, and stakeholders by coordinating emergency preparedness efforts, medical response operations, and communication between internal departments and emergency service providers. The Emergency Services Lead plays a key operational role in ensuring emergency resources are properly staffed and positioned, operational plans are executed effectively, and incidents are handled in a professional and timely manner in accordance with local AHJ protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must successfully pass a driving record check.
  • Strong communication skills within HMS, including written report writing.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory or leadership experience in a related field required.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and emergency service providers simultaneously.
  • Proficient in report writing, radio communications, and operational coordination.
  • Experience managing online company training programs related to OSHA and safety compliance.
  • Experience of participating in or overseeing a safety committee.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in EMS, fire rescue, emergency management, emergency services operations, event operations, public safety support services, or a related field preferred (minimum of five years combined experience).
  • Knowledge and certification in the Incident Command System (ICS) and emergency management principles preferred.
  • CPR / AED Certification.
  • FEMA ICS Certifications (ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 preferred).
  • EMT, Paramedic, Fire Rescue, or Emergency Management certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and execution of emergency medical and emergency services operations for NASCAR events, racing activities, concerts, festivals, and special events.
  • Assist with emergency services staff, medical vendors, and contracted emergency personnel assigned to Speedway operations.
  • Coordinate with fire rescue, EMS providers, medical teams, emergency management personnel, and internal and external departments to support safe event operations.
  • Assist with OSHA, EPA, and safety policy development, oversight, and Hearing Conservation Program management.
  • Monitor emergency response readiness, medical staging areas, ambulance deployment, first aid stations, evacuation routes, and emergency response procedures.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, operational incidents, and safety-related concerns while ensuring proper communication and documentation.
  • Conduct pre-event operational inspections and assist in identifying safety concerns and risk mitigation measures.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of emergency action plans, severe weather procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain communication with Race Control, Security, Operations, Care Center personnel, and system providers during events and emergencies.
  • Ensure personnel maintain professionalism, accountability, and compliance with Speedway policies, procedures, and state-regulated certifications.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness exercises, drills, and regional and NASCAR operational training initiatives.
  • Assist with post-event reviews and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Support daily facility emergency preparedness and operational readiness activities as assigned.
