Emergency Room Technician - 36 hours night shift - Emergency Room
About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the ER Tech provides direct patient care in the Emergency Room and functions as an assistant to medical providers and licensed nurses. This role involves providing for the personal care, safety, nutrition, and elimination needs of patients. The ER Tech performs specific procedures according to the patient's plan of care, assists with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, and communicates effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a safe unit environment, ensuring supplies and equipment are available to facilitate patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- EMT-B, Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant with acute care experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations required
- Ability pass drug screening and background check
Nice To Haves
- Must be available for 6-10 weeks of training/orientation in the ED
- Will attend dysrhythmia training course and must pass to maintain position
