Emergency Room Technician

About The Position
Provides technical support to emergency room physicians and nurses to optimize patient care. All activities are performed under the license of an MD. The technician assists RNs and MDs with technical patient care, supports the Emergency Physician, and cleans equipment and the workspace.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of previous experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist RNs and MDs with technical patient care.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV starts.
- Perform 12-lead EKGs.
- Transport patients to other departments.
- Place patients on cardiac and vital sign monitors.
- Perform Point of Care Testing.
- Perform wound care and in-and-out catheterizations.
- Obtain laboratory specimens.
- Document all care and procedures provided.
- Provide technical support to the Emergency Physician.
- Clean equipment and workspace.
