EMERGENCY ROOM RN REGISTRY/PRN
About The Position
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) delivers and coordinates patient care in Holy Cross Hospital’s North and South Emergency Departments. The RN assesses patient status, identifies problems, develops and implements plans of care, delegates care, evaluates outcomes, and promotes patient and family education. Care is delivered with attention to the whole person, including physiological, psychological, and spiritual needs, and considers factors such as age, development, learning ability, health status, and beliefs. The RN provides leadership by guiding, directing, teaching, coaching, and motivating others. The role requires communication and collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other health professionals, including multidisciplinary care planning and problem-solving. The RN also contributes to professional growth by sharing and gaining knowledge through continuing education and research participation, and works within the mission, vision, and values of Holy Cross Hospital.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of emergency room experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Illinois license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient status and identify problems.
- Develop and implement plans of care, including delivering and delegating care.
- Evaluate care delivery and patient outcomes.
- Promote patient and family education and involve them and the health care team in care planning and implementation.
- Provide person-centered care that considers physiological, psychological, spiritual, developmental, learning, health, and belief-system factors.
- Guide, direct, teach, coach, and motivate others to accomplish goals.
- Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other health professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and problem-solving.
- Share and gain knowledge through continuing education and research participation.
- Operate within the mission, vision, and values of Holy Cross Hospital.
