About The Position

Parkland Health Center, part of BJC HealthCare, offers a unique blend of advanced medical care and deep community roots, stemming from its predecessor hospitals established in 1911, 1952, and 1969. With two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri, Parkland Health Center provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to the region. The Farmington campus is a full-service acute care hospital offering medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics, emergency services, oncology, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. The Bonne Terre campus operates as a Rural Emergency Hospital, providing emergency services and outpatient care including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep studies. The Emergency Room is dedicated to providing timely, customer-focused emergency services 24/7, regardless of a patient's ability to pay, including triage, diagnosis, and treatment.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing
  • No Experience
  • No Experience as a Supervisor
  • RN License
  • PRN

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
  • Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
