About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Montgomery, AL. This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and offers a diverse range of patient care. The unit supports high acuity patients and provides care within a collaborative and resource-driven environment. The Emergency Room has a patient ratio of 1:4, Medical Surgical Holds is 1:5, and ICU Holds is 1:3. The unit is supported by CNAs with a ratio of 1:12, a receptionist/HUC, and phlebotomy services. Hospitalists are on-site. The EMR system used is Cerner, IV pumps are Plum 360, medication dispensing is through Omnicell, and monitoring equipment includes Spacelabs. Orientation includes 24 hours of classroom training followed by 24 hours on the unit. Weekend rotation is every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month. Shift times are varied, including day and night shifts. Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday per policy, with scheduling not guaranteed. Parking is available in a designated parking garage.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (ICU or ER)
• Recent experience in a Level II ER setting required
• Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically Cerner or EPIC
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Secure/CPI
• NIHSS
• TNCC

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ER setting.
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Perform necessary procedures including trach care, vent management, and IV therapy.
• Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with facility and accreditation standards.
