About The Position

Riverview Psychiatric Center is seeking an experienced and collaborative Emergency Management Coordinator to lead the hospital's emergency preparedness, safety, and training programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors through comprehensive emergency planning, regulatory compliance, staff education, and coordinated response efforts. The Emergency Management Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates emergency preparedness programs, safety initiatives, training curricula, and disaster exercises while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements. This position works closely with hospital leadership, clinical and support departments, community partners, and emergency response agencies to foster a culture of preparedness and safety. Work is performed with considerable independence under limited supervision. In this role, you will oversee emergency response planning and incident management activities, support compliance with OSHA, CMS, Life Safety Code, and Joint Commission standards, and help maintain a safe environment of care for patients, staff, and visitors. You will also design and deliver staff training programs, coordinate exercises and evaluations, manage preparedness-related committees and projects, and assist with grants, contracts, and program administration. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of emergency management principles, healthcare regulatory requirements, training and exercise development, and safety compliance programs. Success in this role requires strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergency situations. Requirements

  • A Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Development, a Social Science, Business/Public Administration, or Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, related science or field suitable for assigned focus area AND four (4) years staff development experience to include assessing training needs, developing training curricula, developing and implementing training programs.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
