About The Position

Clean Harbors in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for an Emergency Response Project Manager / Supervisor to join our HAZMAT Emergency Response team. This role is responsible for managing projects at a variety of customer locations and is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response (emergency spill cleanup), hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation (tank and pit cleaning), equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. Please note: this position requires new hires to attend our two week Academy training out of state. Expenses are covered by the company and it is paid training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of environmental field service operations experience or related.
  • Strong environmental remediation background and experience.
  • Strong understanding of equipment operations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulation.
  • Cost estimating and computer experience.
  • In depth knowledge of remedial technologies.
  • Previous experience working Emergency Response.

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency response supervisor training and/or Marine Spill Response training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Manages and oversees small to large, technically complex projects involving waste site clean-up and construction, building and equipment decontamination and demolition.
  • Prepare proposals, including cost estimates and work scopes and schedules.
  • Acts as an agent of business and is involved with developing relationships with key customers and understanding the customer issues.
  • Ability to provide timely, concise and relevant information to superiors and subordinates.
  • Provides technical support for proposal preparation, project cost estimates and subcontractor selection and procurement.
  • Enforce the policies and procedures as it relates to Health & Safety.
  • Will be measured off the districts health and safety record.
  • Works closely with the Director of Health and Safety and VP of Site Services in resolving issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
