Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing with OAVT.
  • Strong skills in anesthesia and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
  • Experience in multi-modal pain management.
  • Proficient in radiography and bandage changes.
  • Comfortable with drug dosage calculations and creating anesthetic protocols.
  • Skilled in catheter placement and blood draws.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and provide top-notch patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Venipuncture & IV catheter placement
  • Triage & Assess patients/obtain vitals.
  • Critical thinking
  • Providing nursing care/monitoring to hospitalized patients.
  • Anesthesia, Surgery prep, Patient recovery
  • Running in-house lab testing & use of Cubex
  • Filling prescriptions/Dispensing oral and iv medications
  • Drug administration.
  • Radiographs
  • Provide client education!
  • ECG monitoring
  • Advanced CPR
  • Central lines
  • Placing urinary catheters
  • Placing nasogastric tubes
  • Placing nasal cannulas
  • Maintaining indwelling tubes (chest tube, feeding tube)
  • Blood transfusions
