About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for their Urgent Care & Emergency department. They stay current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness, providing top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house IDEXX laboratory and diagnostic ultrasonography.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Colorado Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) state license.
  • Credentialed technicians are valued as clinical drivers of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Work at the top of your license, following AAHA utilization guidance.
  • Utilize skills in Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Utilize skills in Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Utilize skills in Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Utilize skills in Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
  • Participate in a structured career ladder with multiple technician levels and merit-based increases.
  • Engage in paid precepting, skill checkoffs tied to ladder milestones, and leadership training.
