Emergency Psych RN - Nights
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is a vital member of the patient care team, accountable for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all designated areas. The role involves developing and updating individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, assessing patient outcomes, and identifying available resources for patients. The Crisis Psychiatric Unit serves patients aged 5 and older with psychiatric illnesses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. The unit also serves patients requiring detoxification services.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (2-year) required.
- Valid State of Maine RN license.
- BLS Certification required.
- CPI training must be current prior to start.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to manage stress effectively and make decisions under pressure.
- Flexibility to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
