About The Position
The West Virginia University Health System is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician for Braxton County Hospital. WVUM and the department of Emergency Medicine are looking for qualified candidates to join their team. The WVU Health System is the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprising 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. It also includes five institutes and provides management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. The Health System has over 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees, anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown. The system serves a multi-state region including West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania. Requirements
- MD or DO degree (foreign educational equivalent accepted).
- Eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.
- Completed an accredited emergency medicine residency program (or alternate boards like FM, IM with significant ED experience).
Responsibilities
- Serve as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Braxton County Hospital.
- Provide care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Potentially teach, learn, and make a difference from day one.
