About The Position

We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Rhinelander & Tomahawk, WI. This role involves providing clinical emergency medicine coverage in outpatient settings, primarily in Rhinelander, WI, with potential coverage in other regional hospitals. The position requires managing a daily patient volume of 17-23 patients, with an approximate 20% admission rate. The physician will work mostly single coverage shifts, with occasional overlap and collaboration with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) for double coverage. This is an ongoing coverage need starting September 28, 2026.

Requirements

• Board Certified (BC)
• Licensed in WI or IMLC
• Act 10 is acceptable
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications
• Clean record
• Hospital Privileges Required (Temporary Privileges Available)

Nice To Haves

• Local/Midwest-based candidates are strongly preferred as it reduces travel issues in the winter.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medicine coverage in Rhinelander and other regional hospitals in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
• Manage single coverage with occasional shift overlap, collaborating with APCs for double coverage.
• Assess, treat, and manage patients in the emergency department, including approximately 20% admission rate.
• Ensure compliance with hospital credentialing and maintain a clean NPDB file.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff and support team to ensure quality patient care.
