Emergency Medicine Physician
About The Position
We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position in St. Johns, Michigan. This inpatient role involves providing clinical emergency medical care in a community emergency department setting. The physician will be responsible for managing an average daily patient volume of 32-50, with an annual volume of 13,800. A key responsibility includes supervising one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) during overlapping hours. The physician will also interpret EKGs (with cardiology providing final review), respond to hospital codes, and stabilize/transfer OB patients to Lansing L&D. Admissions are handled by admitting physicians, not the ED physician. The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with 10 beds in the department and 24-hour services including Radiology, Lab, Blood Bank, OR, and Anesthesia. Specialty backup is available from various departments including Radiology, Critical Care, Cardiology, and more. The EMR system used is Epic.
Requirements
- Board Certified (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Active full Michigan license required
- ACLS certification
- ATLS certification
- Experience in a community emergency department setting
- Experience supervising APPs
- NPDB Report pulled within 30 days
Responsibilities
