About The Position
This role involves providing emergency medical care to patients across multiple AdventHealth emergency departments within a regional coverage model. The physician will be responsible for performing various procedures, supervising Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), documenting patient encounters in the Epic EMR system, and collaborating with specialists for complex cases.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred); FM or IM accepted per facility requirements
- Active, unrestricted Florida Medical License
- Active DEA with Florida address
- ACLS, PALS, ATLS required (ATLS as applicable for trauma-designated sites)
- Residency trained in Emergency Medicine preferred; FM/IM accepted with appropriate experience
- Case logs from past two years
- CME documentation from past two years
- Stroke CME requirement (6 hours within 2 years or 9 hours within 3 years)
- Current Flu, TB, and COVID compliance
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients across multiple AdventHealth emergency departments in a regional coverage model.
- Perform all department-required procedures including intubation, central lines, suturing, and resuscitation.
- Supervise and collaborate with APP coverage to ensure efficient patient throughput.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the Epic EMR system.
- Communicate with specialists and coordinate care for complex cases requiring admission or transfer.
