About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for an Emergency Medicine Physician in Weslaco, Texas. The physician will provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a micro hospital ED, managing a daily volume of approximately 65 patients. The role involves handling medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies, including resuscitation and stabilization. Key procedures include bedside ultrasound, conscious sedation, intubation, and central line placement. The physician will collaborate with a support staff of physicians, NPPAs, and nursing staff, as well as consulting specialists in Seizures, Respiratory, and Gastroenterology. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with 12-hour shifts available (7a-7p and 7p-7a).

Requirements

Board certified in ABEM/ABOEM or ABIM/ABFM with EM experience.
Active Texas medical license or IMLC.
Active DEA and CDS required.
ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS certifications required.
Board certified within 5 years of residency/fellowship, or EM experience.
4 hours Stroke CME and 16 hours Trauma CME annually.
Case logs for past 2 years.
Immunizations: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, Covid, annual flu, annual TB.

Responsibilities
