About The Position

The Emergency Medicine Physician provides emergency medical care in a 25-bed emergency department in Dardanelle, Arkansas. The department sees an average of 14 patients per day, with a general emergency medicine case mix and an approximately 10% admission rate. The role includes coordinating with admitting physicians and maintaining accurate, timely records in the Medhost EMR.

This locum tenens position provides coverage beginning December 14, 2026, and continuing ongoing. Shifts are 24 hours, from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., including overnight hours. Hospital privileges are required, and the credentialing timeline is 60 days. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Residency training in emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or general surgery.
• At least 2 years of recent experience.
• Active Arkansas medical license.
• Active DEA registration with an Arkansas address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5.
• ATLS certification required.
• Two years of case logs.
• Two years of CMEs, including 40 Category 1 credits.
• Up-to-date immunizations for TB, COVID, influenza, MMR, varicella, and hepatitis B.
• Hospital privileges required.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification recommended.
• PALS certification recommended.
• Board certification is not required; ABPS is accepted.

Responsibilities
