About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a 10-bed Emergency Department (ED) that sees an average of 15 patients per day. The NP will work three 12-hour shifts per week, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The role involves caring for patients of all ages and utilizing the EPIC EMR system. Credentialing is expected to take approximately 30 days. This position is a long-term permanent search, and the role is offered as an independent contractor (1099).

Requirements

• Active Missouri licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
• Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license
• National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
