About The Position

AmeriPro EMS is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care and safe medical transport in emergency environments. The role focuses on patient assessment, direct BLS treatment, operational readiness, and teamwork in support of Paramedics and other public safety partners. EMTs are expected to uphold AmeriPro’s standards of professionalism, safety, and compassionate patient care.

Requirements

• Previous EMT work experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
• Current State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or licensure in good standing.
• Current National Registry NREMT certification, if required by the state.
• Current CPR: BLS certification.
• Valid State driver's license.
• FEMA IS Certifications: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800.
• Technology proficiency.
• Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate in a team.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute instructions in English.
• Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently stand and walk; occasionally sit, climb, stand, or balance.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and provide BLS interventions, including CPR, oxygen delivery, bleeding control, splinting, and vital-sign monitoring.
• Assist Paramedics by preparing equipment and performing delegated tasks during ALS calls.
• Monitor patient condition during transport and relay updates to the Paramedic or receiving facility.
• Complete accurate, timely electronic documentation of BLS care and patient interactions.
• Operate the ambulance safely as assigned, following AmeriPro driving standards and traffic regulations.
• Maintain ambulance and equipment readiness through inspections, cleaning, restocking, and reporting issues.
• Perform stretcher operations, lift and move patients, and secure equipment to support safe transport.
• Participate in required training and quality-improvement activities to maintain EMT proficiency.
