About The Position
Harney District Hospital is seeking a casual EMT to join their EMS Team. This person will be responsible for pre-hospital care and transportation of injured or sick persons to a medical facility. They must also be able to operate an emergency medical vehicle in a safe manner and perform other duties inline with the department's mission.
Requirements
- High school education supplemented with additional specialized emergency medical training, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Emergency Medical Technician License issued by the State of Oregon.
- AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certificate.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Diploma copy or official transcript of highest academic achievement in order to meet the requirements mandated by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.
Nice To Haves
- Possession of BTLS, PHTLS, or equivalent at time of hire.
- Previous emergency medical experience in a hospital environment.
- Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent (to be obtained within six (6) months of appointment).
- State of Oregon approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion of equivalent (to be obtained within six (6) months of appointment).
