About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide appropriate medical care to Team Members for occupational and non-occupational injuries. This role involves communicating with outside medical professionals, TPA's, and management, relaying doctor's orders, and maintaining a clean and professional office environment. The EMT is responsible for accurate and thorough documentation of all treatments, claims, and related paperwork in compliance with OSHA and Self-Insured requirements. Additionally, the EMT will assist with safety management, hearing tests, and the application of the Drug and Alcohol Policy. This position also includes daily plant tours to identify safety issues and check on Team Members with light duty assignments.

Requirements

  • Current EMT certification and CPR Certification.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate in documentation tasks.
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of people under stressful circumstances in a professional manner.
  • PC & Microsoft Office skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish / English is helpful.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/CalOSHA/WISHA Regulations helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate medical care for occupational and non-occupational injuries.
  • Call 911 for emergency response when needed.
  • Instruct Team Members on proper care of injury or illness.
  • Communicate with outside medical professionals, TPA’s and management regarding claims.
  • Provide light duty assignments as directed by a doctor.
  • Relay doctor’s orders to Management and Human Resources.
  • Maintain a clean, professional office in appearance and operation.
  • Complete proper documentation, including entering claim information into Origami and maintaining Team Member medical charts.
  • Record and scan original Doctors’ notes and documentation into Team Member’s chart in Origami.
  • Provide Team Members with appropriate Workers’ Compensation documentation, ensure accurate completion, and forward to TPA.
  • Update daily / weekly logs and summaries.
  • Restock office inventory on a daily basis and track inventory.
  • Adhere to all OSHA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Assist Safety management with hearing test paperwork.
  • Assist personnel in the application of the Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Tour plant daily for safety issues and to check on light duty Team Members.

Benefits

  • Pay Range $23.15 to $27.25 Per hour
