About The Position

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care hospital that strives to offer exceptional care to the Sierra Vista community. The Emergency Department (ED) at Canyon Vista Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for the delivery of patient care. This 22-bed unit operates within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• EMT-B Required

Nice To Haves

• Two years of college Preferred
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

Responsibilities

• Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location.
• Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
• Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
• Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
• Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
